PACK THE HOUSE! We’re gearing up to pack the house on April 15 with 100% attendance. If there’s someone you’ve missed seeing in church, make it a point to contact them and encourage them to join you in worship.
CTR-U CRAFT CLASS will be April 11 at 5:30. It will be a wooden wall hanging which you can hang seasonal décor, children’s artwork, greeting card, etc. on. We will offer several options of spring décor to paint as well as two plaque options. Cost $5.00 – Limited to 11 participants. Sign up now.
HARVEST HOUSE SPRING CLOTHING DRIVE: Clean out your closets and bring your gently used clothing for the clients of Harvest House during the month of March.
OUTREACH FOOD DRIVE for South Tulsa is Sunday! Please remember to bring non-perishable food and household items for those in our area who are not as fortunate as we are.
ECC AUCTION is set for April 20 from 6-10 at the Campbell Hotel. Tickets are $25/person – $40/couple. They can be purchased at the ECC office or contact Nikki Witt. If you would like to donate any of the following, please let Nikki know: a weekend stay at a timeshare or vacation home; any connections with sporting events or concerts (ie tickets, use of a suite, etc); bottles of wine; new/unused baskets of all sizes; monetary donations for basket sponsorships; restaurant gift cards.

All donations will help support the youth attending the 2018 Summer Mission Trip to Florida and the 2019 National Youth Gathering in Minneapolis.
Youth Easter Breakfast: This year our menu for the Easter breakfast will be casseroles, fruit and pancakes. We have decided that it would be easiest to all meet together Friday, March 30 before the Good Friday worship service to:
1. Set up the Fellowship Hall
2. Prep the fruit and casseroles
Please commit to be here on Friday at 5:30 PM. The supplies for the casseroles will be here (including disposable pans!) as well as the fruit. We will need hands, preferably youth hands as well as adult, to assist in assembling casseroles and setting up the tables and paper products. Then we will need families to commit to taking home casseroles to bake OR arriving early on Sunday to help get them in the oven. And we will need servers and pancake makers for Sunday morning.

VBS: Join us for a packed week of fun, fellowship and Bible study as we learn what it means to LIVE FULLY ALIVE! Together we will learn about the lives of Joseph, Esther, Jesus and Paul. We will also learn about the Early Church. Jesus told us, “I have come so that they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way. (John 10:19b)” Through large and small group time, games, snacks, crafts, mission and music we will learn to live like God is with us, live like God has a plan for us, live like Jesus is alive, live like people matter and live like we are part of a bigger story.

ASSISTANCE DURING TEACHER WALKOUT: CTR plans to make the church available for “School Camp” for up to 50 of our children and youth in grades PK-12 in the event of a teacher walkout beginning April 2 from 8:00 AM-5:30 PM Monday-Friday. Beginning today, you will able to sign up for this service on a first come, first served nature. Please speak to DCE Suzanne for more information. Volunteers will also be needed to help assist throughout each day and a signup is available through DCE Intern Myrthe to serve this way. We will also be accepting donations of prepackaged chips and snack items to use for snacks such as– granola bars, trail mix, grahams, cookie etc. Please drop them off at the church office.
OWLS will meet on April 11 at 11:30 at Incredible Pizza to discuss future plans of Older Wiser Lutheran Seniors. A private room has been reserved and the buffet costs $8. There is a signup sheet at the south entrance for those interested in attending.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT – CHILI COOK-OFF is Sunday at 5:00. Sign up to enter to win the Best Chili Contest! Winter Olympic Games for the youth and BINGO for the adults will be available as well as a cake give-away. The youth band will also perform!
Best chili voting will be based on a point system: nickel: 5 pts, $1.00: 100 pts, $5.00: 500 pts, etc. Coins and $1.00 bills will be deducted from the total whereas $5, $10, etc. will be added. All monetary proceeds will go to purchase toiletry items for the veterans in our area.
KIDS WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES at the chili cook-off will be hosted by Family & Children’s Ministry. If you are interested in judging the games, please contact DCE Intern Myrthe. Games begin at 5:00 and conclude at 6:00. All children and friends are invited to attend.

Early registration is $100 and due February 4 afterwards the price goes up to $135. Friends invited to attend as well! Cost includes programming, travel, hotel, meals and a t-shirt! This year’s band is The Homesteaders and the speaker is Gabe Kaspar who has previously worked with the National Youth Gathering! To attend please complete the form and return it with a $100 non-refundable deposit.

SOUTH TULSA COMMUNITY HOUSE: We are in great need of just about everything “canned,” as well as other proteins such as dried beans, peanut butter, meat based soups. We also need clean and labels removed prescription bottles which we use to distribute shampoo, body wash/soap and the like. They request that you not donate any Ramon noodles.

SUNDAY IS THE LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FEBRUARY CTR-U CRAFT CLASS which will be held on February 7 at 5:30. It is a Valentine wall hanging. Sign up at the display in the narthex. The class is limited to 12 participants and will cost $7.00.
SOUP FOR SUPER BOWL SUNDAY: Members are asked to bring cans of soup in support of South Tulsa Community House for Super Bowl Sunday, February 4! Show your support for those less fortunate!! SOUTH TULSA COMMUNITY HOUSE also has a need for clean styrofoam or paper egg cartoons. Please drop off any donations to the cart at the south entrance.

LWR/THRIVENT WORKDAY: Volunteers are invited to join the ladies for a workday putting together fabric and personal care kits on Tuesday at 1:00. Two Thrivent grants have been used to purchase materials needed, however, personal donations are welcome. Items needed are: bath-sized towels, 4 oz soap, tooth brushes, large heavy duty combs, combination file/clippers, large spools of thread and 3-yard lengths of fabric. Come join them for this service project!!

FATHER-DAUGHTER DINNER is February 17. All fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and fathers-in-law are welcome with their daughters! Cost is $25 per couple and $5 each additional person. This year’s theme is “Girl’s Rock!” so get ready for a fun night of dinner, desserts and dancing! Tickets for sale beginning January 21.
LUTHERAN COMFORT DOG COMES TO CTR! Outreach Ministry is bringing Rufus, the Oklahoma Lutheran Comfort Dog to visit children’s and adult CTR Sunday school classes on February 11 as well as in the narthex area before and after late service to meet members. His handler will tell us Rufus’ story and answer questions about how and when Rufus and other comfort dogs are bringing people love, mercy and compassion, visiting in times of need across the United States. Our current quarter Sunday school offering is going to support this “human care” ministry.

Cost is $70 per Jr high student or friend & $35 per high school student leader DUE TODAY. You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form.
SUMMER MISSION TRIP (6th-12th grade) June 23-July 1, 2018. The deadline to sign up for the youth summer trip to Florida is January 28. Both Jr High & High School youth may register. In order to attend and reserve your spot you must complete the form and return it with a $50 non-refundable deposit.
INCREDIBLE LOCK-IN (6th-12th grade) Feb. 18-19, 2018. The regional LCMS youth lock-in at Incredible Pizza is February 18-19 and open to Jr High & High School students. RSVP and $30 non-refundable payment due no later than February 4 to attend. All Tulsa area LCMS churches are invited to attend and you can bring a friend as well. To attend please return your $30 and submit a 2018 medical/permission form.
OK’D IN CHRIST (9th-12th grade) March 9-11, 2018. The Oklahoma District High School Youth Gathering will be March 9-11 at the Embassy Suites in Norman, OK. Early registration is $100 and due February 4 afterwards the price goes up to $135. Friends invited to attend as well! Cost includes programming, travel, hotel, meals and a t-shirt! This year’s band is The Homesteaders and the speaker is Gabe Kaspar who has previously worked with the National Youth Gathering! To attend please complete the form and return it with a $100 non-refundable deposit.

JOURNEY IN JANUARY (9th-12th grade) ; High School retreat at Camp Lutherhoma Journey is a high school Christian retreat (Jan. 12-14) that is planned, orchestrated, and run by High School Youth from around the state. Cost includes transportation, meals and housing for the weekend as well as all programming and a t-shirt. You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form. LWML WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS DINNER is Dec. 14 at 6 pm in the fellowship hall. Tickets are $15 each, payable to LWML and go on sale next Sunday. JUNIOR ROUSTABOUTS: We are excited to announce that on January 7th we will be kicking off a new program for all ages! Junior Roustabouts is a service group for children from preschool to high school and their parents. This workday will include lunch and a service project led by our very own Roustabouts. Sign up near the library!
CLUB 345 CHRISTMAS PARTY: On December 10th from 3:30-5:00 p.m. come to Club 345’s Christmas Party in the gym. We will be playing stocking socks and Minute to Win It games. Please bring a pair of goofy Christmas socks with a small item inside them to share during our stocking socks game.

HIGH SCHOOL CHRISTMAS LOCK-IN (9th-12th grade): January 20th-21st @ Immanuel in Broken Arrow. Cost is $0 to attend. Bring a snack, white elephant gift and items for the service project (announced later) as well as comfy clothes, a blanket, and pillow. We will enjoy Bible Study, Christmas games, walk to the Rhema lights and more!
JR HIGH RETREAT (6th-8th grade): The Jr High Retreat is only CTR youth and friends. This annual event brings together our 6th-8th grade students and friends for a weekend of Bible study, fellowship and team building. Jr High Retreat @ Camp Lutherhoma in Tahlequah January 26-28, 2018. Cost is $70 per jr high student or friend & $35 per high school student leader You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form. You will not complete a medical form until after January 1st.
JOURNEY IN JANUARY (9th-12th grade) ; High School retreat at Camp Lutherhoma Journey is a high school Christian retreat (Jan. 12-14) that is planned, orchestrated, and run by High School Youth from around the state. Register to attend with CTR by December 10th and pay only $110 to stay in either the Pine or Aspen retreat cabins! Get your forms in early! These cabins fill up FAST!! This price is good for both CTR members and friends they invite to attend! Your linens, bedding and towels will be provided. If space is still available after December 10th, you may register up until December 24th for $140. Cost includes transportation, meals and housing for the weekend as well as all programming and a t-shirt. You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form. COLLECTION CENTER: Please remember to collect various ink cartridges and electronic equipment for the LWML; food and household supplies for South Tulsa Community House; various labels for ECC (check out the collection center for a list); various coupons for the military; eye glasses for MOST Ministries. All these items can be dropped off at the collection center at the south entrance.
