CTR-U CRAFT CLASS for January 17: The frame will be a laser wood frame that can be painted and then decorated with your choice of  burlap ribbon. Class is limited to 12 participants. Cost is $12.00. Sign up today!

OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2018 are ready for you to pick up at the south entrance. Do not use them until January because your number has probably changed!

OUTREACH FOOD DRIVE for South Tulsa Community House will be December 31. Bring your canned food/household products to the narthex for collection.
  
JUNIOR ROUSTABOUTS: We are excited to announce that on January 7th we will be kicking off a new program for all ages! Junior Roustabouts is a service group for children from preschool to high school and their parents. This workday will include lunch and a service project led by our very own Roustabouts. Sign up near the library!

We will enjoy Bible Study, Christmas games, walk to the Rhema lights and more!
 

JR HIGH RETREAT (6th-8th grade): The Jr High Retreat is only CTR youth and friends. This annual event brings together our 6th-8th grade students and friends for a weekend of Bible study, fellowship and team building. Jr High Retreat @ Camp Lutherhoma in Tahlequah January 26-28, 2018. Cost is $70 per jr high student or friend & $35 per high school student leader You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form. You will not complete a medical form until after January 1st.

Cost includes transportation, meals and housing for the weekend as well as all programming and a t-shirt. You can sign up by returning a check for the registration amount (see above) & the form. You will not complete a medical form until after January 1st.

DOOR OFFERING: There will be a door offering in support of the ECC on December 3.

CRAFT FAIR: Join us for our 2nd Annual Craft Fair December 2 from 10-4:00! Vendor fees will go to the ECC and CTR Youth Ministry as a fundraiser.  

LWML WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS DINNER is Dec. 14 at 6 pm in the fellowship hall. Tickets are $15 each, payable to LWML and go on sale next Sunday. Guests are asked to bring feminine hygiene products as a donation for Tulsa Day Center for the homeless. Questions?? contact Carol Fruehling at 805-1604. If you need a ride to the dinner, contact Carol.

FINAL CHANCE TO SIGN UP FOR THE CTR CHRISTMAS PARTY: Plan now to attend this year’s party on December 9 from 5-8:00 at the Glenpool Convention Center. Tickets are on sale at $15 per adult. Please pay for your tickets on Sunday. Childcare will be available at the church for 10 and under and pizza will be provided for them.  Jenks Vocal Choir will be our entertainment.

SOUTH TULSA COMMUNITY HOUSE: We are in great need of just about everything “canned,” as well as other proteins such as dried beans, peanut butter, meat based soups. We also need clean and labels removed prescription bottles which we use to distribute shampoo, body wash/soap and the like. They request that you not donate any Ramon noodles.
 

COLLECTION CENTER: Please remember to collect various ink cartridges and electronic equipment for the LWML; food and household supplies for South Tulsa Community House; various labels for ECC (check out the collection center for a list); various coupons for the military; eye glasses for MOST Ministries. All these items can be dropped off at the collection center at the south entrance.

GIVING TUESDAY: You’ve probably heard of Black Friday, but have you heard of Giving Tuesday? Giving Tuesday, observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, takes the focus off of the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday and instead celebrates giving back. our goal is to use Giving Tuesday to spread the Gospel message by raising money and awareness for LWML Mission Grants, which share the love of Jesus throughout all nations. www.lwml.org/givingtuesday

BLOOD MOBILE will be at CTR on Sunday. WE NEED 5-7 MORE WALK ONS TO MEET OUR GOAL SO PLEASE INCLUDE SOME TIME IN YOUR MORNING TO WALK ON THE BLOOD MOBILE TO SAVE SOMEONE’S LIFE.

BOARD and LAY MINISTRY MEETING is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 23 at 6:30.
WIDOWS BIBLE CLASS is cancelled for Oct. 25.

Especially needed at this time are items for the cold weather: sweaters, long pants, coats, blankets. Visit the table in the entry hallway area for more information and to drop off  your items.   

CLUB 3-4-5: On November 10th, Club 345 will be adventuring to the Oklahoma Aquarium to sleep under the sharks! This will be a night filled with tons of fun and learning about God’s under the sea creatures! The registration fee for this event will be $40 per student and will include snacks, behind the scenes access to exhibits, many fun and educational activities, a flashlight tour, movie time, a devotional experience, sleeping under the sharks and breakfast the next morning! If your child is planning on attending please submit your $40 and medical release papers (can be found in the Family and Children’s Ministry Office) to DCE Intern Myrthe by Sunday November 4th.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS: Donations of canned food, non-perishable items and household products are needed no later than November 12 for this year’s baskets. Monetary donations to purchase gift cards so families can buy perishable items for their Thanksgiving meal can be placed in the offering plate with Thanksgiving basket on the memo line or dropped off at the collection table.

CONNECT NIGHT has been cancelled for Saturday. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS SURVEYS AND PLEDGE CARDS: If you haven’t filled out the survey or the pledge card, please pick one up today and turn it in. The survey results help align you with your strengths in regard to work done by CTR’s lay ministries. The results will be shared with those ministries as well.
 
FALL FESTIVAL is Sunday from 5-7 pm.

ECC WILL HAVE AN AUCTION during fall festival. The baskets will be on display on Sunday for early bids. You need not be present to win a basket. Please come and support the ECC by bidding on some wonderful baskets!

LWML BAKE SALE will be Sunday during church and the fall festival. Proceeds will benefit the LWML and their mission projects. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods is encouraged to do so.

TRUNK or TREAT COMPETITION: This year’s winner for best decorated trunk will receive a $20 Quik Trip gift card.

FLOOD BUCKET PROJECT: CTR will be collecting flood buckets, along with other OK District congregations, to help those affected by the recent hurricanes. Families are asked to purchase a 5-gallon bucket with lid and fill it with paper towels, disposable rags, glass cleaner, cleansing powder, liquid cleaner, 1-gallon size bleach, scrub brush, sponge(s) and 2 pairs of rubber gloves. These buckets should be brought to the church no later than Sunday, Oct. 15. 
 
FLU SHOTS will be available during church and fall festival on Oct. 15.
BLOOD MOBILE will be at CTR on Oct. 22.

SUNDAY IS PASTOR APPRECIATION SUNDAY: Join us in fellowship as we show our appreciation to Pastor Burmeister during the Sunday school hour. The gym will be available for the youth to enjoy the bounce house with parental supervision. A basket for cards will be available. No Sunday school classes will be held.
 
LWML SUNDAY is Sunday. A door offering will be taken up for Mites.
 
LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP FOR THE CTR-U CRAFT CLASS which is Oct. 11 at 5:30 and limited to 12. Cost is $5.00. Check out the display in the narthex for details.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS SURVEYS AND PLEDGE CARDS: If you haven’t filled out the survey or the pledge card, please pick one up today and turn it in. The survey results help align you with your strengths in regard to work done by CTR’s lay ministries. The results will be shared with those ministries as well.
 
FALL FESTIVAL: Volunteers are needed for the fall festival which is Oct. 15. Check out the signup near the library!

LWML BAKE SALE will be next Sunday during church and the fall festival. Proceeds will benefit the LWML and their mission projects. Anyone wishing to donate baked goods is encouraged to do so.

SENIOR FRIENDS will be Oct. 8 at Red Lobster (71st & Memorial).
BRAILLE WORKSHOP will be Oct. 9 at 9:00 at Our Savior.
BUNKO will be Oct. 10, 7:00 at church with hostess Tomie Whitacre.
FLU SHOTS will be available during church and fall festival on Oct. 15.
BLOOK MOBILE will be at CTR on Oct. 22.
ACOLYTES are asked to sign up for one or more Sundays on the new schedule that is located near the library.
 

FLOOD BUCKET PROJECT: CTR will be collecting flood buckets, along with other OK District congregations, to help those affected by the recent hurricanes. Families are asked to purchase a 5-gallon bucket with lid and fill it with paper towels, disposable rags, glass cleaner, cleansing powder, liquid cleaner, 1-gallon size bleach, scrub brush, sponge(s) and 2 pairs of rubber gloves. These buckets should be brought to the church no later than Sunday, Oct. 15. An insert in Sunday’s bulletin will have all this and further details for you.

HARVEST HOUSE: Please bring clean/gently used, or brand new, clothing/household items to church during October. Especially needed at this time are items for the cold weather: sweaters, long pants, coats, blankets. Visit the table in the entry hallway area for more information and to drop off  your items.   

Advent Devotional! The season of Advent is almost upon us. Please prayerfully consider writing a devotion to contribute to this year’s book, “The Genealogy of Christ: A Savior for Sinners.” We will be exploring different people from both Matthew and Luke’s genealogies in the build up to the Savior of the nations coming into the world! CLUB 3-4-5: On November 10th, Club 345 will be adventuring the Oklahoma Aquarium to sleep under the sharks! This will be a night filled with tons of fun and learning about God’s under the sea creatures!

We are in great need of just about everything “canned,” as well as other proteins such as dried beans, peanut butter, meat based soups. We also need clean and labels removed prescription bottles which we use to distribute shampoo, body wash/soap and the like. They request that you not donate any Ramon noodles.

JUNIOR HIGH REGISTRATION FOR JOY IS NOW OPEN! JOY is open to students in 6th-8th grade and their friends. This year’s cost is $130 for a CTR Student and $95 for CTR Friends (*Note a friend is a non-church member.) Please turn in your forms ASAP so we can reserve spots!!! You may pay a $55 non-refundable fee to hold your spot when you turn in your form and the rest on or before Sept, 30.  We will depart from CTR on Friday at 5:30 PM and return Sunday afternoon between 2:30-3:00 PM.

INTRODUCING CLUB 345! We are kick starting Club 345 (our third, fourth, and fifth grade youth group) with a trip to Pumpkin Town Farms on October 1st at 1:00 p.m. We are asking that every child has at least one parent or guardian in attendance.  With that being said, there will be a $5 payment per person due by Sunday, September 24th. After late service on October 1, we will be offering a pizza lunch for an additional $3 per person. Once we are done with lunch, the plan is to caravan over to the pumpkin patch.  We hope to have all our awesome third, fourth, and fifth graders at this first Club 345 event!

LWML FALL FEST is hosted by King of Kings at CTR on Sept. 16. Registration/coffee begins at 8:30. Patti Ross will be the speaker. Mission offering is baby diapers, formula, snack items (pudding’/fruit cups, PB/cheese crackers, etc.) Check out the registration forms at the LWML table in the narthex. 
 
LWML KICKOFF BRUNCH will be at First Watch (81st & Lewis) at 10:30 on Sept. 19. All ladies are invited. Please sign up at the display in the narthex.

Young Adults Bible Study! On October 3rd we will be kicking off our young adult’s Bible study. The night will start at 6:30 p.m. at Taziki’s on 71st and Yale. After dinner, we will head back to church for a Bible Study on “You Lost Me.” If your schedule is crowded, you are welcome to come to just dinner or just the Bible Study. LWML will provide the lunch as a thank you to CTR for their support of LWML/LWR mission projects. A free-will offering will be taken to help support Pastor Chehab’s ministry. Please plan to attend.

Faith Stepping Stones: As children grow we want to educate and train them in the faith when they come to the church, but we also want to give families the resources to continue that development at home. As each child in our church grows, we will put resources in your family’s hands to help them learn at home what they are also learning here. On August 27, 2017 we celebrate Christian Education Sunday and will have these resources available to each family for their home library. Please look for your child’s name with the appropriate age group and bring your book home. Some resources may span multiple grades or ages so if you brought your book home last year we ask that you do not take a repeat copy this year so others can share in these resources. Please share this book with your child and work with them as they Grow in Christ!

RECONNECT! The next Reconnect will be Saturday September 9th  from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This month we will be setting up not one, but two bounce houses!

LWML FALL FEST is hosted by King of Kings at CTR on Sept. 16. Registration/coffee begins at 8:30. Patti Ross will be the speaker. Mission offering is baby diapers, formula, snack items (pudding’/fruit cups,PB/cheese crackers, etc.) Check out the registration forms at the LWML table in the narthex.
 
LWML KICKOFF BRUNCH will be at First Watch (81st & Lewis) at 10:30 on Sept. 19. All ladies are invited. Please sign up at the display in the narthex.
 
COLLEGE STUDENT MINISTRY: Education Ministry needs your children’s college mailing addresses. We are planning to send out at least seven mailings this school year. Without an address your child will not receive our mailings. Please sent their mailing addresses to connie.phillips@ctrtulsa.org or call her at 918-492-6451. Our first mailing will be in October. SOUTH TULSA COMMUNITY HOUSE: We are in great need of just about everything “canned,” as well as other proteins such as dried beans, peanut butter, meat based soups. We also need clean and labels removed prescription bottles which we use to distribute shampoo, body wash/soap and the like. They request that you not donate any Ramon noodles.
 

COLLECTION CENTER:

Please remember to collect various ink cartridges and electronic equipment for the LWML; food and household supplies for South Tulsa Community House; various labels for ECC (check out the collection center for a list); various coupons for the military; eye glasses for MOST Ministries. All these items can be dropped off at the collection center at the south entrance.

CHURCH SIGNS: “All are welcome” CTR yard sign will be available in between services this Sunday.  You can pick one up and place in your yard. A $3 donation is suggested.    
 
CTR-U BEGINS SEPTEMBER 6: CONFIRMATION CLASSES from 5:30-6:30 PM are open to students in 6th grade and up. Sept. 6-Nov. 1 we will be studying Prayer, Nov. 15-Dec. 6 we will be studying Law and Gospel. FAITH FRIENDS is an option for children kindergarten-fifth grade! Come to the gym at 5:30 for a fun time exploring our faith. PRE-CONFIRMATION will start at 7:00. If you are in 4th or 5th grade, please consider joining us! PASTOR’S ADULT CLASS will start at 7:00 with Hebrews-The Fulfillment of Faith as well as his youth Bible study at 5:30 in the youth room. CTR-U CRAFT CLASS will be a pallet painting class on Sept. 13 at 5:30. The cost will be $12 and limited to 15 people. Check out the display in the narthex for details.
 
LOVE GATHERING of kleenix, paper towels or non-scented wipes are being requested for the ECC as they prepare for their new school year. Donation tubs are in the narthex.
 
 
WIDOWS BIBLE STUDY will begin September 6 with Pastor Burmeister at 10:00 in the library. The subject will be the LifeLight series on Mark. The class will meet every Wednesday.
 
LADIES BIBLE STUDY with DCE Suzanne is at 9:30 in the library on Fridays. Women of all ages welcome. Contact DCE Suzanne for more information or to order a copy of Love Rules.
 
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS: We are in need a of few more teachers! Please prayerfully consider using your talents to help teach the children. Contact DCE Intern Myrthe.
 
READERS NEEDED FOR ECC for 15 minute time slots every other Monday at 9:45. You can bring your own books or use those at ECC. If you would like to sign up, go to families@ctrtulsa.org and reserve your spot.
 
Faith Stepping Stones: As children grow we want to educate and train them in the faith when they come to the church, but we also want to give families the resources to continue that development at home. As each child in our church grows, we will put resources in your family’s hands to help them learn at home what they are also learning here. On August 27, 2017 we celebrate Christian Education Sunday and will have these resources available to each family for their home library. Please look for your child’s name with the appropriate age group and bring your book home. Some resources may span multiple grades or ages so if you brought your book home last year we ask that you do not take a repeat copy this year so others can share in these resources. Please share this book with your child and work with them as they Grow in Christ!
