INTEREST SESSION FOR OCTOBER 5 will be Pat’s Pens & Things/Uncanny Creations: Janet Collins has built a business on recycling aluminum cans. She creates beautiful jewelry and magnets that she sells under the guise of Uncanny Creations. Pat is a wood turner who turns old tree cuttings into vases, bowls and pens. He’s been doing it for about six years through Pat’s Pens & Things. Janet and Pat will come and talk about their work and have pieces of their artwork for us to see. They will also have a display table of items that can be purchased. All members are invited to attend and then join us for dinner. This presentation will take place in the fellowship hall from 5:30-6:30.
MISSION SUNDAY is Sunday. Outreach Ministry will host a potluck following the late service. All families are asked to bring a dish to pass. Our speaker will be Rev. Bennai. He is a missionary-at-large here in Oklahoma ministering to the Muslims.
BATON ROUGE MISSION TRIP: Gauging preliminary interest in going to the Baton Rouge area with King Of Kings- Glenpool to assist LCMS Disaster Response and Camp Restore for several days in October. Currently, due to the nature of the work, volunteers are only being accepted who are age 18 and over. Those with a compromised immune system should not go. Looking at the possibility of October 23-30 or sometime within that time frame. Could be over a weekend, could be part of the week. We would drive there and back in order to keep cost low and bring supplies. Please let DCE Suzanne know if you are interested. Cost would be $150 or less a person depending on trip length and donations toward the trip.
RECIPE ROUNDUP is postponed until a later date.
THE STORY BIBLE STUDY begins Sunday. If you are interested in taking part in The Story, you must order the books for your family no later than September 21. All the books are $5.00 for those participating in the classes.
LWML will meet on September 12 to pack the quilts for shipping.
