BUILDING COMMITTEE is excited to invite the congregation of Christ the Redeemer to view the results of over 2 years of work.  The new Master Plan and Conceptual Design will be offered in a presentation by the staff of W Design, LLC for your consideration.  No vote will be taken at this meeting, but it is your opportunity to view the plan and ask any questions you may have.  The presentation will occur following late service on Sunday, March 26.  Please attend if you are able!
 
MITE BOX SUNDAY is next Sunday.


LADIES FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS resumes on March 3 to begin Love Rules. Please let DCE Suzanne know if you plan to come so she can order a book for you. Suggested book donation is $10.

WOMEN’S RETREAT – March 3-5 at Camp Lutherhoma in the luxurious Aspen retreat cabin. Retreat is Friday-Sunday, all meals, snacks, program materials and lodging are included. This includes sheets, blankets, and towels. Please arrange transportation with other participants. Cost for the weekend is $75 per person. Please pay cash or check payable to Christ the Redeemer with “women’s retreat” in the memo line. This retreat is open to CTR members and their friends age 21 and older. Space is limited to 20 people so register early!
 
MOTHER/SON NIGHT at Main on Sunday, March 26 from 5-7 for unlimited bowling, laser tag, billiards, a $10 fun card, pizza and drinks. Cost is $25 per “couple” and $10 for each additional son. Gransmas and aunts can come too! Please RSVP by Monday, March 20th.

ECC/YOUTH GARAGE SALE – April 21-22 – Clean out your closets and help these groups with their fundraiser!! They will take all your unwanted appliances, furniture, Knick Knacks, Kitchen Ware, Electronics, Toys, Baby items & anything else You may want to give! CAMP SUNDAY is March 26. Camp staff will present a special program at 9:30 in the fellowship hall. They will be able to answer any questions and sign children up for summer camp.

HARVEST HOUSE SPRING CLOTHING DRIVE: Clean out your closets and bring your gently used clothing for the clients of Harvest House during the month of March.

SOUTH TULSA COMMUNITY HOUSE:

We are in great need of just about everything “canned,” as well as other proteins such as dried beans, peanut butter, meat based soups. We also need clean and labels removed prescription bottles which we use to distribute shampoo, body wash/soap and the like. They request that you not donate any Ramon noodles.

 

COLLECTION CENTER: Please remember to collect various ink cartridges and electronic equipment for the LWML; food and household supplies for South Tulsa Community House; various labels for ECC (check out the collection center for a list); various coupons for the military; eye glasses for MOST Ministries. All these items can be dropped off at the collection center at the south entrance.

 TRIP TALK: Pastor will give an overview of his recent trip to the Holy Land during CTR-U on Wednesday at 5:30. Everyone is invited to attend.


 SWEETS FOR YOUR VALENTINE: ECC is hosting a bake sale on Monday and Tuesday with a variety of homemade desserts. Stop by the office to make your purchase. They are also hosting a raffle for an Edible Arrangement delivered on Valentine’s Day. Raffle tickets are $5 or 10 for $40. Contact the ECC office for your purchase.

LWR PERSONAL CARE KITS: A Thrivent Action Team will be assembling personal care kits for 2017 on Tuesday. Anyone interested in helping out are encouraged to attend at 10:00. If you wish to donate items, please bring large bath towels, 4 oz soap, tooth brushes, sturdy combs and the combo nail clippers/files.

July 2-7, 2017– COLORADO MISSION TRIP: For all youth completing 6th-12th grade in May 2017). Open to Jr. High and High School students at Lutheran Valley Retreat Center in Woodland Park, CO. The cost of the trip will be around $325-350 a person for stay at the retreat center, transportation, meals, work projects and a day trip event.
The tentative plan is to leave the morning of July 1 and stay in the Colorado Springs or Denver area and have a little free time on the 2nd then check in at LVR on the 2nd. Our time at LVR would go through breakfast on the 7th and we would have the opportunity to do an event together that afternoon and stay the night at a local hotel. On the 8th we will pack up in the morning and drive home. Without stops, the drive straight to LVR is approximately 11 hours while the drive to Denver is just under 10 hours. More details and plans for the trip will come as we get a clearer picture how many youth are attending.
I need to begin getting a verbal YES/NO if you would like to go. If you plan to attend, a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot of $50 is due by January 22, 2017.

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY for this 5th Sunday event will benefit the area Vets. We ask that you bring toiletry items and socks to church on the 29th as well as the event later that day. A monetary donation to participate in the cake walk as well as a way to vote on your favorite chili will be collected. These funds will be used to purchase additional items for the area vets.

for February 1 is a presentation by Clint Howard MS CPT, Bestselling health and fitness author! You won’t want to miss hearing him speak at 5:30. Clint is the Founder/Director of Tulsa Fitness Systems, Exercise Physiologist, Metabolic Training & Fat Loss Expert and Nutrition Coach.  You may have heard him on FOX 23 News, “Fitness with Clint”. He is a great motivator and you will leave being inspired to eat right and exercise for a healthy and happy 2017!

January 27-29, 2017– JR HIGH RETREAT: For all confirmation and Jr High students and their friends in the retreat cabins at Camp Lutherhoma
All 5th-8th grade CTR students and friends are invited to our Winter Retreat at Camp Lutherhoma! We will be staying in the new retreat cabins so all bedding, linens and towels will be provided. This year’s theme is “The Power of Influence” and we will be doing Bible study, games, group building and more throughout the weekend. The cost is $65 per person and includes 2 nights at Lutherhoma and all meals, activities and a t-shirt!

We also need clean and labels removed prescription bottles which we use to distribute shampoo, body wash/soap and the like. They request that you not donate any Ramon noodles.

 

COLLECTION CENTER: Please remember to collect various ink cartridges and electronic equipment for the LWML; food and household supplies for South Tulsa Community House; various labels for ECC (check out the collection center for a list); various coupons for the military; eye glasses for MOST Ministries. January 13-15, 2017– JOURNEY IN JANUARY: High School retreat at Camp Lutherhoma: What is Journey in January? Journey is a high school Christian retreat that is planned, orchestrated, and run by High School Youth from around the state of Oklahoma. Camp Lutherhoma has been running this event for 28 years and it has become an important faith development moment for all who attend. Register to attend with CTR by December 18th and pay only $110 to stay in either the Pine or Aspen retreat cabins! This price is good for both CTR members and friends they invite to attend! These cabins are the new retreat facilities at camp. Your linens, bedding and towels will be provided. Each cabin has full bathrooms with showers inside the cabin as well as a sitting area and fireplace! If space is still available after December 4th you may register up until December 18th for $130. Cost includes transportation, meals and housing for the weekend as well as all programming and a t-shirt. We will leave from CTR on Friday, January 13th at 6:30 PM and return on Sunday, January 15th at approx. 1:30 PM

This year’s theme is “The Power of Influence” and we will be doing Bible study, games, group building and more throughout the weekend. The cost is $65 per person and includes 2 nights at Lutherhoma and all meals, activities and a t-shirt!
 
July 2-7, 2017– COLORADO MISSION TRIP: For all youth completing 6th-12th grade in May 2017). Open to Jr. High and High School students at Lutheran Valley Retreat Center in Woodland Park, CO. The cost of the trip will be around $325-350 a person for stay at the retreat center, transportation, meals, work projects and a day trip event.
The tentative plan is to leave the morning of July 1 and stay in the Colorado Springs or Denver area and have a little free time on the 2nd then check in at LVR on the 2nd. Our time at LVR would go through breakfast on the 7th and we would have the opportunity to do an event together that afternoon and stay the night at a local hotel. On the 8th

Find some of your favorite brands and other items from local craftsmen. Everyone is welcome. So come on over and bring some friends! Childcare available for children under 8.
SUNDAY SCHOOL SPONSORS:   Would you like to recognize, encourage and support our Sunday School teachers and students on a regular basis?  If so, please consider being a “Sunday School Sponsor” beginning January through April, 2017. Privileges of sponsorship include (but not limited to):  praying for students and teachers, thank you cards to teachers, notes to students, sharing favorite Bible passages, giving small gifts such as bookmarks, etc. to students, doing something special for the teachers, providing little treats for the students.  Keep it simple.  Try to do something every 4-6 weeks.  We especially encourage grandparents, singles, couples, young adults, and retirees to participate and give the parents a break.  If you would like to sponsor a class, please check in the narthex for the Sunday School Sponsor sign-up sheet. (If you have any questions, contact a Board of Education member – Diane Fager, Stephanie Loseke, Barbara Sprunger.)
 
LWML SHOE MINISTRY:   Collection of gently used/new shoes is a new recycling project. This is an opportunity for you to clean out your closet. Baskets for the shoes can be found at the collection center near the south entrance and will continue through January.
 
STAFF GIFTS: Please consider thanking our CTR staff and showing our appreciation with a year-end Christmas bonus.  Please write “staff gifts” on the memo line of your check when making contributions.
LIVE NATIVITY will once again be performed by King of Kings on December 10 & 11 at 6:00 & 7:30 at the open field on 151st St. S (SH-67) just east of Hwy 75 in Glenpool. Bring your warm blankets and enjoy the performance including live animals. Refreshments will be served.
 
RECIPIENTS OF CTR’S GIVING TREE  is MEND Pregnancy Center. The tree is up and full of teddy bears and baby feet to help you with your selections. Please take one and share Jesus’s love with those in need. MEND’S wish list consists of diapers (sizes 3, 4, 5 and 6), baby wipes, Jesus Story Book Bibles ($10 at Mardel’s or Amazon) and money for car seats. Other baby items are also welcome. Money donations can be placed in the baby bank near the tree with checks to CTR and MEND on the subject line.  Collection of items will continue through December. LAST WEEK TO SIGN UP FOR THE CHRISTMAS EVENT  hosted by Parish Life on December 11 at 5:00 at the Glenpool Convention Center. There will be dinner and entertainment by Tulsa Metro Sound. Childcare will be provided for children 10 and under. Parents are asked to provide a sack dinner for them. We are limited to 112 attendees. Tickets are $15 per person and go on sale in early November so mark your calendar now and plan to join us! Payment should be made at the ticket table.
 

LWML CHRISTMAS DINNER for all women will be Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. at CTR. The dinner, catered by Ludger’s, will cost $16.00/person. Tickets will go on sale in November. We will be “Unwrapping the Names of Jesus” and hope you will join us! Please bring a gift of diapers, wipes, or baby clothes (smaller than 4T) to be donated to Crisis Pregnancy Outreach. If anyone wishes to attend but needs a ride, please contact Sharon Schmidt at 405-605-9518.

CRAFT CLASS FOR NOVEMBER

will be a nativity banner. The cost of the class will be $5.00 and will be held on November 9 at 5:30. There is a limit of 12 participants for this class. If you have a pair of fabric scissors, please bring them. Sign up and enjoy this banner as part of your home decorations over Christmas.
