SUNDAY SCHOOL SPONSORS: Would you like to recognize, encourage and support our Sunday School teachers and students on a regular basis?  If so, please consider being a “Sunday School Sponsor” beginning January through April, 2017. Privileges of sponsorship include (but not limited to):  praying for students and teachers, thank you cards to teachers, notes to students, sharing favorite Bible passages, giving small gifts such as bookmarks, etc. to students, doing something special for the teachers, providing little treats for the students.  Keep it simple.  Try to do something every 4-6 weeks.  We especially encourage grandparents, singles, couples, young adults, and retirees to participate and give the parents a break.  If you would like to sponsor a class, please check in the narthex for the Sunday School Sponsor sign-up sheet. (If you have any questions, contact a Board of Education member – Diane Fager, Stephanie Loseke, Barbara Sprunger.)
LWML SHOE MINISTRY: Collection of gently used/new shoes is a new recycling project. This is an opportunity for you to clean out your closet. Baskets for the shoes can be found at the collection center near the south entrance and will continue through January.
STAFF GIFTS: Please consider thanking our CTR staff and showing our appreciation with a year-end Christmas bonus.  Please write “staff gifts” on the memo line of your check when making contributions.

LIVE NATIVITY will once again be performed by King of Kings on December 10 & 11 at 6:00 & 7:30 at the open field on 151st St. S (SH-67) just east of Hwy 75 in Glenpool. Bring your warm blankets and enjoy the performance including live animals. Refreshments will be served.

Money donations can be placed in the baby bank near the tree with checks to CTR and MEND on the subject line.  Collection of items will continue through December. If you have questions contact Diane Morlock.
OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2017 are ready for you to pick up at the south entrance. Please do not use these until January as your envelope number has changed.
TULSA OILERS PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY TEAM will be having a Faith & Family Night on Friday, February 24. We are running a special on CTR group tickets for the church at $7 a ticket.  January 13-15, 2017–JOURNEY IN JANUARY: High School retreat at Camp Lutherhoma: What is Journey in January? Journey is a high school Christian retreat that is planned, orchestrated, and run by High School Youth from around the state of Oklahoma. Camp Lutherhoma has been running this event for 28 years and it has become an important faith development moment for all who attend. Register to attend with CTR by December 4th and pay only $110 to stay in either the Pine or Aspen retreat cabins! This price is good for both CTR members and friends they invite to attend! These cabins are the new retreat facilities at camp. Your linens, bedding and towels will be provided. Each cabin has full bathrooms with showers inside the cabin as well as a sitting area and fireplace! If space is still available after December 4th you may register up until December 18th for $130. Cost includes transportation, meals and housing for the weekend as well as all programming and a t-shirt. We will leave from CTR on Friday, January 13th at 6:30 PM and return on Sunday, January 15th at approx. 1:30 PM.

January 27-29, 2017– JR HIGH RETREAT: For all confirmation and Jr High students and their friends in the retreat cabins at Camp Lutherhoma.  All 5th-8th grade CTR students and friends are invited to our Winter Retreat at Camp Lutherhoma! We will be staying in the new retreat cabins so all bedding, linens and towels will be provided. This year’s theme is “The Power of Influence” and we will be doing Bible study, games, group building and more throughout the weekend. The cost is $65 per person and includes 2 nights at Lutherhoma and all meals, activities and a t-shirt!

July 2-7, 2017– COLORADO MISSION TRIP: For all youth completing 6th-12th grade in May 2017). Open to Jr. High and High School students at Lutheran Valley Retreat Center in Woodland Park, CO. The cost of the trip will be around $325-350 a person for stay at the retreat center, transportation, meals, work projects and a day trip event.
The tentative plan is to leave the morning of July 1 and stay in the Colorado Springs or Denver area and have a little free time on the 2nd then check in at LVR on the 2nd. Our time at LVR would go through breakfast on the 7th and we would have the opportunity to do an event together that afternoon and stay the night at a local hotel. On the 8th we will pack up in the morning and drive home. Without stops, the drive straight to LVR is approximately 11 hours while the drive to Denver is just under 10 hours. More details and plans for the trip will come as we get a clearer picture how many youth are attending. I need to begin getting a verbal YES/NO if you would like to go. If you plan to attend, a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot of $50 is due by January 22, 2017.
